Job Description

The Database Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of business reporting systems. Writing / Tuning database procedures for large data transfer/maintenance between internal and external customer / vendors using PL/SQL, ETL, Linux and other 3rd party tools.

 

This job requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills; person should be self motivated and shall possess the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

This position requires excellent communication skill due to extensive customer interaction for requirement gathering and discussions.

 

·         70% Report Development/Creation with 30% Customer Interaction for requirement gathering/Analysis.

·         Required to deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping to produce complex reports.

·         Design, development and creation of custom reports based on business requirements.

·         Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Very Large Oracle databases.

·         Creation, maintenance and reviewing of DB code and performance tuning.

·         Design and Develop database packages, procedures and functions.

·         Provide technical solutions to projects in different stages of the development life cycle.

·         Support development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications

·         Writing ad-hoc queries for various reporting requirements.

·         Ensures that all deliverables are thoroughly documented.

Skills & Experience

Required skills:

·         Experience in creation and publishing of BI reports.

·         Experience with Data transfer, ETL process.

·         In-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g+

·         In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including tuning.

·         Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting.

·         Import/Export large data volume.

·         Good knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.

·         Experience of using Business Objects and report building functions.

·         Familiarity with Data warehousing and Oracle specific tools and utilities.

·         Experience in using TOAD or SQL Developer

·         Good documentation skills.

·         Knowledge of Java, XML and HTML

·         Knowledge of open source web development.

·         Knowledge of SOA Architecture / Oracle SOA Suite.

·         Knowledge of Agile Methodologies.
