Coordinate WebFOCUS design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements.

The selected candidate in this position serves as a Java J2EE Programmer 4 for an IT portfolio project to develop a public-facing website to display CRASH accident statistics over the internet.

 

 

The Programmer 4 will work with a Senior Architect to design, code, test, implement and support the XML web service.  The programming language will be Java/J2EE running on IBM WebSphere in a Windows environment.  The backend database is IBM DB/2 on mainframe zOS.  Experience with Oracle 10g/11g, Crystal Reports and any enterprise rules engine would also be helpful.

 

In addition, the Programmer 4 will work with a Senior Architect to design, code, test, implement and support a public-facing website that will display CRASH statistics.

 

Specific Duties:

1.         Serve as a senior developer of n-tier applications using Java J2EE.

The Database Administrator will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and performance tuning of z/OS DB2 databases as well as some VSAM files.  The DBA will also work as part of a team to provide DB2 DBMS subsystem management.

In addition, this person will be required to provide afterhours support, 24 x 7 on a rotating basis.

 

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
In-depth z/OS DB2 Database Administration experience (4+ years).  DB2 Version 9 experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of VSAM files.
Ability to code SQL.
DBA certifications a plus.
Database Administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Informix and/or DB2 LUW on Unix or Oracle on Windows.
Sapiens knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of TMON for DB2 and CA tools RC/Migrator, Log Analyser and Detector a plus.

 

Responsibilities:
• Database administration, implementation, and maintenance tasks including but not limited to:
­ -Enforcing database naming/creation/deletion standards in the Test and Production environments
­ -Establish, oversee, and optimize all database maintenance (i.e. update statistics, etc) and backup processes
­ -Enforce and implement appropriate security measures
• Troubleshoot application database issues
• Ensure the 24/7 availability and performance of the databases that support our systems, including "on-call" responsibilities
• Optimize the hardware/system resources allocated to the databases for high availability & minimum downtime

• Manage backup and recovery of databases

The Mobile Deployment Manager will serve as a technical resource responsible for structuring an environment to design/deploy mobile applications and updates for the Department's mobile devices.

 

The Mobile Deployment Manager will serve as a technical resource responsible for structuring an environment to design/deploy mobile applications and updates for the Department's mobile devices.  They will work with development teams to design and implement solutions to ensure secure delivery of applications and updates to the mobile workforce and to protect the safety and security of information systems data that may be accessed from mobile applications and software products. They will provide guidance and direction for the protection of information systems, applications and intellectual property assets.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Design a secure delivery method for mobile device management including updates and applications for iOS and Android platforms (phones and tablets).

Design in-house app stores to publish applications to the mobile workforce.

Facilitate the development and communication of software standards for mobile software design, development and deployment.

Leverage the MDM services to manage 3rd party applications from the app stores as well as the in-house enterprise applications.

Work with application and product teams to ensure smooth delivery throughout software development from concept to testing and implementation.

Review existing data storage and transit processes, documenting any shortcomings and recommendations for resolution.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
