Description
Position Summary:
As a key member of the software engineering group, you will function as the Database Administrator and Developer  in the software development organization. You will be responsible for database administration, database architecture, database installation, software application tier, reporting services, database modification and enhancement.  

Roles & Responsibilities:
Maintain multiple deployment SQL server environments
Implement and enforce database standards and policies e.g. security.
Manage backup/recovery strategy for all database servers
Install, maintain, and upgrade RDBMS software, as required
Monitor and address database server performance issues
Monitor and maintain Application Data Tier written in .NET 4.0 c# with NHibernate ORM.
Development and support Database Development Life Cycle (DDLC) using VS 2010 and SQL 2008R2.
Reports development under SQL Server  Reporting Services (SSRS)
Advanced T-SQL coding, SQL stored procedure, Jobs, Table and index creation
 Proactively plan for increased capacity and scalability
Documentation to support design, maintaining and installation of the application DB.
Participate in project meetings to understand application and database requirements

Minimum Requirements for the Role:
BS in Computer Science or related technology required. MS preferred.
8+ years of  directly applicable experience with SQL DBA, Database Architecture, Database Engineering, Database Administrator
Development experience with SQL Server 2008R2
Development experience with ORM, NHibernate is a plus.
Development experience with SQL Server  Reporting Services (SSRS)
Development experience with .NET, SOA, n-tier applications.
Data Architecture, Database Architect, DTS, OLTP, OLAP, MCDBA, SSRS Clustering a plus
Physical & Logical DB Schema design
Strong knowledge of SQL, data design, and relational concepts; experience with Relational Database Systems.
Proficient in object-oriented design, data analysis and system architecture and the associated documentation
Experience in SSIS, SSRS, .Net Framework 4, C# is a plus.
Visual Studio 2010 Database Project and Deployment, Windows Installer XML (WiX), MSI or any Installation experience is a plus.
 TFS 2010 support warehouse and reports, experience is a plus.
Defense\security oriented project experience
Able and willing to work extended hours, if required

Location : Harrisburg, PA

SAP BASIS Administrator support position.

The SAP BASIS Administrator is responsible for maintaining the SAP ERP Application, database and related utility software from a technical infrastructure (BASIS) perspective with regards to performance, availability, backup /recovery, installation and upgrades, import/export of Work Bench objects, client copies and transport creation.

 

• Applies system upgrades, support packs and patches to the SAP application and related systems

• Ability to advise and assist with SAP system architecture design, sizing, and installation and EHP upgrades

• Perform monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting

• Management of SAP user access and security aspects

• Designs, develops and implements disaster recovery practices, procedures and plans for SAP environment

• Installed and configured TREX to enable Catalog Authoring Tool and Catalog Search Engine

• Setup and configured the file adapters in XI / PI

• Configure, manage, and monitor TMS (Transport Management System), Export and import transports

• In-depth knowledge of administration and configuration of virtual systems based on VMware

• Solution Manager setup and configuration

• Perform system refreshes, client copies, client exports/imports and new client setups

• Perform daily health checks including checking backup status, system logs and database logs for any issues

• Perform SAP printer and spool administration

• Configure and manage SAP Solution Manager/CCMS alerts for availability, performance, etc.

• Create, manage and monitor batch jobs in SAP

• Ensure stability, security and recoverability of the SAP application and related systems

• Support functional and technical I.T. support teams with problem resolution and system modification design and implementation activities

• Portal configuration and connectivity

• Assist with data loads and mass data updates

• Perform transfer of all application changes from development environment to the QA environment to production release

• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and documentation relating to the SAP

• Ability to explain technically complex solutions in simple terms

• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, both independently and as a team member

• Provide off hours systems support as and when needed

• Perform capability/knowledge transfer to PTC staff

• Possess good problem solving skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Position will be for 500 hours.
