Job Title : Java/J2ee Developer

Location : Trenton, NJ 

Duration : 1 Year

Face to Face required

This contract is for one (1) Product Specialist 4 to be assigned to the OIT Pensions area.  The selected candidate will provide support for two Pensions Customer Service Initiatives:  Mandate Retired Beneficiary Designations and Enrollments Enhancements.

The selected candidate must demonstrate exceptional JAVA programming skills, both on the submitted resume and also during the interview conducted at OIT.

The selected candidate must possess prior experience leading a project.

The candidate will be expected to use MSWORD and MSEXCEL to produce project documentation and must have previous experience performing documentation tasks.

Candidate will be expected to communicate verbally and in writing with the client and must have previous experience performing client contact.

The candidate will work a 40-hour week between the core hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., flexible work schedules are not permitted; all work must be performed on-site at River View Plaza; on-site overtime may be required.

Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years

Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study

Please note that during the OIT on-site interview process, the following 2-part interview will take place at River View:

- Part 1:  approx. 20 - 30 minutes of general questioning to confirm experience as indicated on the resume; and oral technical questions confirming skills as indicated on the resume specific to this project.

- Part 2:  approx. 60 minutes, written technical questions specific to skills necessary to complete tasks for this project.

Please note that any candidates not local to New Jersey may take Part 1 via conference call, however the candidate must take Part 2 on-site at Riverview, no exceptions will be granted.

The Project Manager directs, controls, administers, and regulates an enhancement or development program.

This is a large multi-year project.

The Project Manager 3 directs, controls, administers, and regulates an enhancement or development program.  The Project Manager is the individual ultimately responsible to the agency. The Project Manager must ensure that the program is completed on schedule and that the final product meets the business, technical, and established quality requirements.

Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study.

A minimum of 5 years of advanced administrative support experience preferably in large project management environments. Advanced information and task organizations skills. Proven analytical skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.

Years of Relevant Experience: 7 plus years

Role Description:

•Assist the Project Management Team as necessary.

•Review and/or develop project management schedules and plans for use by internal and external stakeholders

•Reviews project proposal and deliverables with the selected vendor, the State Project Managers and other related departments that will be involved to determine proper lead-time, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project tasks, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

•Monitor and review any status reports needed to track progress of project activity daily

•Prepares project Status reports for the Sponsors, State Project management team, and others, as prescribed.

•Responsible for working with State Project Director and project staff on updating and refreshing all project documentation.

•Communicate verbally and in writing to multiple project stakeholders internal and external to the organization.

•Coordinate project tracking and reporting.

•Track and Report on project deliverables.

•Track and Report on project budget.

•Track and Report on status, risks, issues, budget and other areas as needed.

•Controlling and organizing the documents generated throughout the project.

•Maintaining the project schedule.

•Ensuring project compliance with applicable regulations.

•Maintaining budget information.

•Perform other duties as assigned.
